Our mission is twofold: to inspire, guide and support individuals on their journey of personal development, and to help learners of all backgrounds overcome the challenges of achieving functional skills qualifications. While we specialise in supporting adults with additional learning needs, our courses, workbooks and resources are designed for anyone seeking meaningful, accessible learning. From our CPD-accredited training (in development) to our Inspirational Annual Planner and Journal, and a growing collection of functional skills workbooks, everything we offer is built to empower and uplift. More About our services and approach
At Angel Ark Ltd, we understand that traditional methods of teaching maths and English don’t work for everyone—especially for adult learners or those with additional learning needs. That’s why Angela Wilkinson, our founder, began developing her own resources during her time as a full-time Functional Skills tutor and Learning Development Coach. Drawing on both her personal learning journey and professional expertise, Angela created content that simplifies complex concepts and reflects the way her own mind processed these subjects.
Angela has designed and published Level 2 Functional Skills workbooks for both maths and English as well as a very useful maths revision planner - a practical tool for structuring revision time effectively.
All of Angela’s resources are designed to support learners in mastering functional skills and building confidence along the way. They include:

We genuinely believe these resources provide the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in Functional Skills qualifications. But we know that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why we also offer support sessions—ideal for learners who may be stuck on a particular topic, or simply need a confidence boost before their exam.
To meet a variety of needs, we offer a flexible range of delivery packages—from one-off exam bookings, to intensive tuition for individuals, to fully customised training solutions for organisations and corporate clients.
At Angel Ark Ltd, we’re passionate about helping learners unlock both their academic potential and personal growth. We are starting to create personal growth resources - the first of which is an inspirational annual planner and journal. This was designed based on Angela's personal experience with often needing to carry 3 or four separate books for each of the functions she was interested in. We will also be creating CPD accredited programmes in personal growth which will be added to our portfolio later this year.

2016 - 2017
Foundation Degree in Education and Training with English Literacy and Language specialism
The start of Angela's own journey in adult education! She embarked on this path to make a meaningful difference in society, recognising that English is an essential part of everyday life. Her tutoring career began in prison education, where she witnessed first hand the transformative power of education and how it can instil hope for a brighter future.
2018 - 2020
BA (Hons) in Education and
Completing her degree marked the beginning of Angela's research journey, where she researched the impact of missing functional skills qualifications on life trajectories. It was discovered that many adults tend to attribute their shortcomings to personal failures rather than their educational experiences. This realisation fuelled Angela's passion to dismantle these barriers to learning, particularly those rooted in fear and a lack of confidence. She is committed to creating an environment where everyone feels able to pursue their educational and career goals.
2020 - 2022
Master’s Degree in Education and Professionalism
Angela's continued journey in education and research further ignited her passion for finding innovative methods that make the perceived vital qualifications in literacy and numeracy accessible to everyone - no matter their starting point, learning challenges, or fears.

About Angel Ark Ltd
Founded by Angela Wilkinson, a dedicated educator with a deep passion for adult learning, Angel Ark Ltd is built on years of hands-on experience and academic achievement. Angela spent 22 years as a senior project manager at British Telecom before beginning her own journey in adult education. She earnt a Degree in Education and Professional Development with a specialism in English Language and Literacy, followed by a BA (Hons) in Education and Professionalism, and a Master’s Degree in Education—all while working full time in the field of functional skills.
Angela has always focused on project management and organisation as a means to success in the workplace and as an adult educator has mostly focused on learners with additional learning needs and those who felt left behind in mainstream education. Her approach to teaching focuses on making learning simple, effective, and even enjoyable. She has seen a link between adult education and a need for personal growth and is trying to utilise her skills in a combined effort to help adult learners to achieve their aims and goals. Angela has developed and published a range of functional skills workbooks to help all learners and in particular those with additional learning needs. She is also focusing on helping adults with their personal growth and has recently developed and published her own unique annual planner and journal, all aimed at helping individuals thrive in their educational and personal lives.
